Vancouver Home To House Four
Sex
Offenders
Neighbors Protest Move
VANCOUVER, Wash. -- Neighbors
are expressing outrage over
a notice that a registered sex offender is moving into their
community, into a home where three sex offenders already live.
Residents of the west Vancouver
neighborhood met before state
and local law enforcement officials Tuesday night to protest the
move.
Dwight Peterson is moving into
the home on West 27th Street.
He joins Jimmie J. Hoover, Troy Warren and Brian Dickey, KOIN
6 News reports.
Some are upset because the
house is near parks, an
elementary school and a community center.
But state leaders say that
no laws prohibit them from living
together.
A corrections official tells
KOIN that few landlords will rent to
sex offenders, limiting their options for housing.
